Vauxhall’s a changing…
In yet another sign of the changing face of Vauxhall, the highly regarded Paris Gym is to close at 4pm on Saturday 27 June, after 20 years of business.
It launched in 1995 as an exclusively gay male gym, and has been open to all men for the past 11 years. It has always had a good reputation for no-nonsense training (no BodyPump classes etc!).
The owners don’t cite one specific reason for their decision to close, but the Paris gym joins Area and Barcode on the list of Vauxhall venues that have closed in the past 12 months with others such as the Royal Vauxhall Tavern facing a very uncertain future.
A closing party will be held at The Eagle on Friday 9 July from 9pm. This is free for all gym members.
For displaced Paris Gym members we’d say Soho Gyms Clapham High Street is a good alternative option.
