Fundraising bid to make the film of Larry Levan’s Paradise Garage in New York

One of our favourite events from last year was “A Night In Paradise” at the Ministry Of Sound to celebrate the music of Larry Levan’s Paradise Garage in New York City.

The good news is that the event returns to London for a daytime party at Ministry Of Sound (2pm to midnight) on Saturday 19 July 2015.

What’s more there is a Kickstarter campaign to make a screenplay to tell the story of the club and its architects Larry Levan and Michael Brody.

Writer/Director/Producer Jonathan Ullman and Producer Jay Malla Maldonado are seeking donations to raise funds of $175,000 towards the making of the film. Donations (priced in US Dollars) can be from $1 to $10,000. Some of the rewards are only available in the US & Canada. However, there are ample rewards for international donors.

It is intended that the film will be a fully independent production so hopefully, unlike the official edit of “54”, it won’t suffer from studio interference. Full details are on Kickstarter.
