New Year’s Eve: Soho & The West End in London

West End Bars with free entry all night

Entry to basement bar New Bloomsbury Set (76 Marchmont Street, WCN1 1AG), Circa (62 Frith Street), The Yard (57 Rupert Street), and Ku Bar (30 Lisle Street), Ku Soho (25 Frith Street) Rupert Street Bar (50 Rupert Street), G-A-Y Bar (30 Old Compton Street) and G-A-Y Late (5 Goslett Yard, WC2H 0EA) is free all night.

Balan’s Restaurant and Balans Cafe on Old Compton Street will also be open all night to fulfil your protein and carbohydrate needs throughout the night and into the morning.

G-A-Y at Heaven

G-A-Y’s NYE event runs from 9pm to 5am with Katy B and Alexandra Burke performing. £12 tickets are on sale now at G-A-Y Bar on Old Compton Street. Limited tickets will also be available on the door on the night.

As is standard for New Year’s Eve entry to Heaven club is via Craven Street off The Strand (by Boots). You’ll probably need to ask a security marshall to let you through crowd control barriers.

The Shadow Lounge: Ultraviolet

Jodie Harsh hosts the Ultraviolet Laser Party from 8pm to 5am at The Shadow Lounge (Brewer Street, W1F 0RF), supported by Munroe Bergdorf & Jonathan Bestley. £25 tickets are on sale now.

Edge Bar: New Year’s Eve

At The Edge Bar (11 Soho Square, W1D 3QE) free guest list entry is available for members. £8 tickets are available online or at the venue. Table reservations are also available. Call 020 7439 1313 to book. Edge is open from 6pm to at least 4am. More on Facebook.

Freedom Bar: Masquerade Ball

Freedom Bar (66 Wardour Street, W1F 0TA) hosts a Masquerade Ball. Entry is free before 11pm. Bookings for table reservations are open. Call 020 7734 0021 to book.

Manbar: 12 Hour NYE Party [Advance tickets now off sale]

Manbar (79 Charing Cross Road) plays host to a 12 hour New Year’s Eve party from 6pm to 6am. £5 advance tickets available online.

New Year’s Eve: North London

The Black Cap: Camp NYE [SOLD OUT]

The Black Cap (171 Camden High Street, NW1 7JY) promises an evening of high camp to see in 2015. Expect performances by Mr Agadoo (aka Black Lace!), Scottee, Myra Dubois, Legs & Coq, Kalki Hula Girl, Jayde Adams, Ginger Johnson, Fagulous and Japans People. Kris Di Angelis, Dusty O, Holestar and Theo Adams are yours DJs for the evening. Advance tickets are now sold out.

New Year’s Eve: South London

The Royal Vauxhall Tavern: Push The Button [SOLD OUT]

Push The Button will once again be occupying The Royal Vauxhall Tavern (372 Kennington Lane, SE11 5HY) for New Year’s Eve from 9pm. Advance tickets are currently sold out.

Southwark: XXL “Bearbarella King Of The Galaxy” at Pulse

XXL’s NYE event “Bearbarella King Of The Galaxy” at Pulse (No 1 Invicta Plaza, SE1 9UF) event runs from 9pm through to 9am. Tickets are now on sale at £30 for members and £37 for non-members (we’d say this is very steep for XXL). If tickets are off sale, it’s worth checking back for later releases. Tickets are also available in branches of Clone Zone.

The Eagle: New Year’s Eve Party [Advance tickets now off sale]

The Eagle’s (349 Kennington Lane, SE11 5QY) NYE celebration runs from 9pm. Hosted by Melonie Peel complete with a performance of her new single, and the return of Queens of Pop, with DJs Wes B and Little John. £15 early bird tickets are on sale now (also £20 on the door). More on Facebook.

Barcode: Club Tin Tin, Dirty Disko, Higher, Un-Chill

Barcode brings together four of its club nights for NYE from 10pm. £10 advance tickets are available now. More online.

The Two Brewers

The Two Brewers (114 Clapham High Street, SW4 7UJ) has cabaret entertainment from Miss Jason, La Voix, and Sandra with support from DJs Phil Marriot, DJ Demon and Paul Short. Doors open from 7.30pm. Tickets are £18 in advance (call 020 7819 9539 or buy at the venue). Very limited tickets will be available for £20 on the night.


Entry to Kazbar (50 Clapham High Street, SW4 7UL) is free all night.

Bridge Bar

Finally, staying in Clapham, NYE celebrations at the Bridge Bar (8 Voltaire Road) run from 6pm to 4am.

New Year’s Eve: East London

Dalston Superstore: Little Gay Brother [Advance tickets now off sale]

Little Gay Brother plays host to Dalston Superstore’s (117 Kingsland High Steet, E8 2PB) NYE celebrations from 9pm to 5am. £15 tickets are on sale now with an edict to “Dress to impress bitches!” and “strong looks only”.

Vogue Fabrics: Missfit Presents Unicorn Disco’s NYE Glitter Ball [Advance tickets now off sale]

Missfit celebrates a year in action with music from Bica (Clam Jam), Dani Port (Unicorn Disco) and more from 9pm at Vogue Fabrics (66 Stoke Newington Road, N16 7XB). Advance tickets are very modest £3, and £5 on the door. More info online.

East Bloc: 12 Hour New Year’s Eve Love In [Advance tickets now off sale]

East Bloc hosts a 12 hour New Year’s Eve Love In from 10pm to 10am across three rooms dedicated to house, R’n’B (hosted by R’n’She) and pop. £15 advance tickets are available online. Tickets are £15 on the door. DJs include Mark Moore, Dave Kendrix and Per QX. More on Facebook.

Shapes Hackney: Sink The Pink [SOLD OUT]

The 2 Bears and the Sink The Pink join forces for NYE promising live shows, steaming DJ sets and obscenely colourful stage invasions at Shapes (117 Wallis Road, E9 5LN) in Hackney Wick from 9pm to 5am. Advance tickets are now sold out. More also on Facebook.

Practical Information for New Year’s Eve in Central London

As is par the course for New Year’s Eve, road closures will be in place across Central London from early evening. The Tube will run all night and public transport will be free from 23:45 to 04:30. Some Central London Tube stations are likely to close/operate exit only at times to prevent overcrowding. More on the Mayor Of London website and from Transport for London.

New Year’s Day – London

Beyond returns with its traditional New Year’s Day party at Fire (South Lambeth Road, SW8 1RT) from 5am with special guest Ben Mason. Early bird tickets are on sale now.

The SLAGS/Chillout Reunion (No, not that sort of chill-out) for another New Year’s Day gathering at The Royal Vauxhall Tavern from 3pm. Advance tickets are available online.

Horse Meat Disco’s New Year’s Day Gymkhana returns from 6pm at The Eagle on New Year’s Day. Entry is £8.

We Party also returns to its origins with a New Year’s Day party under the banner “Pure” at The Coronet Theatre (28 New Kent Road, SE1 6TJ) from 10pm. Tickets are on sale now.

Club Room Service hosts its first New Year’s Day party at Club Miabella (12-13 Greek Street, W1D 4DJ) from 10pm. This will be a busy night. No advance tickets are available and early arrival is recommended. More on Facebook.

New Year’s Eve – Brussels

In Brussels, La Demence, which will be 25 years young in January, will be celebrating the New Year with its traditional New Year’s Day party at Fuse Club from 9pm. This event has sold out with no tickets on the door.

New Year’s Eve – Madrid

The worldwide brand “We Party” continues its New Year Festival in Madrid with parties running over seven days from Boxing Day to New Year’s Day. The line up includes London’s Beyond (Boxing Day 26 December), We Party “Attacks” (Saturday 27 December), Eliad Cohen’s Papa Wild West (Sunday 28 December), Forever Tel Aviv (Monday 29 December), Matinee Pervert (Tuesday 30 December), We Party “Gods Of The Olympus”) (Wednesday 31 December) and We Party “Metropolis”) (Thursday 1 December).

New Year’s Eve – Paris

Scream Paris’ (18 rue du Faubourg du Temple, 75011 Paris) NYE’s event runs from 10pm to 10am. Tickets from €21 are on sale now.

New Year’s Eve – Cape Town

Cape Town is a very popular winter destination for UK travellers and should you find yourself in Cape Town over New Year, London’s very own Adam Turner is playing Crew (Green Point, 30 Napier Street) on New Year’s Eve.
