To be honest, Nandos is a restaurant I’ve never quite understood the appeal of, or at least the obsession some have with it. After all, it is essentially chicken and chips.
However, passing through Vauxhall last night, I couldn’t help but notice the presence of a Nandos in the railway arch opposite the Royal Vauxhall Tavern.
I’m sure this will go down well with those looking to maintain their protein intake pre & post-club!
Nandos isn’t the first chain to arrive in Vauxhall (Starbacks & Pret A Manger have long had a presence). However with Vauxhall and Nine Elms ear-marked for a large urban regeneration initiative and the arrival of Dirty Burger, I can’t help but wonder whether this presages the start of a significant change in the dynamic of Vauxhall and how the Vauxhall railway arches, which house much of the gay nightlife in the area, will be used.
