It’s four weeks until London Pride weekend on 29 and 30 June, so here’s a quick run through of some of the official and unofficial events on, and around, Pride weekend:
The Pride Parade will take place at 1pm on Saturday 29 June. The parade starts on Baker Street, then goes along Oxford Street, through Regent Street to Haymarket, then past Trafalgar Square to Whitehall.
(NB. I assume the Crossrail works mean that Soho Square will not be hosting any events again.)
UK Black Pride will be taking place in Golden Square, Soho on Saturday 29 June from 12pm.
Summer Rites Pride In The Park is the official music festival of the event. The festival is in Shoreditch Park and runs from 2pm to 11pm on Saturday 29 June featuring seven different arenas (Pop/RnB Party, Dance Arena, Everything East, Bears Big Top, Eagle, Urban World and Cabaret)
We Party London is
the official Pride after-party on Saturday 29 June at The Coronet Theatre, from 11pm. Update Monday 10 June: We Party is still taking place, but is no longer acting as the official Pride after party.
Village Drinks is hosting pre-Pride drinks at The Blueberry Bar on Friday 28 June.
In terms of other events on Saturday 29 June, The Wanted will be performing at G-A-Y. The Electric Brixton is once again hosting the Hustlaball with Club 65 (formerly Covert) hosting a pre-party on Friday 28 June. The Royal Vauxhall Tavern is hosting a Eurofest Pride special. More details of Pride events in London’s bars and clubs will no doubt emerge over the coming weeks.
